Your experience begins with a private pick-up from your hotel and a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning Andean landscapes as you travel toward one of Peru’s most important biocultural conservation areas.
The first stop is the Taray Viewpoint, where sweeping panoramas reveal the Sacred Valley, its agricultural terraces, and the villages that line the Vilcanota River below.
You will then continue to the Potato Park, a unique territory managed by local communities dedicated to preserving Andean agricultural biodiversity. Here, you will learn about initiatives focused on protecting native potato varieties, conserving traditional seed banks, and safeguarding ancestral knowledge passed down through generations.
The visit includes meaningful interactions with community members, demonstrations of traditional weaving techniques, and an introduction to the use of natural dyes and artisanal practices that remain an integral part of daily life in the Andes.
At midday, you will enjoy lunch in Urubamba, featuring locally sourced ingredients that showcase the culinary richness of the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon, you will visit Ollantaytambo, one of the most significant historic towns in the Sacred Valley. Its stone streets, flowing water channels, and remarkable Inca architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into how the original urban layout continues to shape everyday life for its residents.
At the end of the day, you will return to Cusco.
