FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the itinerary include all admissions? Yes. It includes access to archaeological sites (Huaca Pucllana, Ollantaytambo, Pinkuylluna, Maras Salt Mines), cultural attractions (Arequipa Viewpoints, Santa Catalina Monastery), community experiences (Umasbamba), natural sanctuaries (Colca Canyon, Tambopata Reserve/Lake Sandoval), Machu Picchu, and the train and local bus tickets specified in the program.

What is the most intense part of the trip? The day in the Colca Valley reaching the Mirador de los Volcanes, the walks along the Amazonian trails towards Lake Sandoval, and the tours through the dunes of Ica and the steps of Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu represent the most active activities, although they are carried out at a very comfortable pace.

Is it necessary to acclimatize beforehand? The itinerary has been strategically structured to promote gradual acclimatization. It begins at sea level (Lima and Paracas), passes through an intermediate altitude (Arequipa), and descends immediately to the Sacred Valley (lower altitude than the city of Cusco), which significantly reduces the risk of altitude sickness.

Is there cell phone signal? Reliably available in Lima, Paracas, Arequipa, Urubamba, and Cusco. Signal will be limited, intermittent, or nonexistent during travel through the deep Ica desert, in certain sections of the Colca Canyon, in the community of Umasbamba, and in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Can it be done all year round? Yes. The experience operates year-round. The dry season (May to October) offers sunny days in the Andes and less rain in the rainforest. The rainy season (November to April) showcases the intensely green Andean landscapes and the Amazonian rivers with higher water levels, making navigation easier.
